The size of the titular megalodon is depicted on the Meg 2: The Trench Dolby Cinema poster. The film, which was written, produced, and directed by Ben Wheatley, will star Jason Statham as Jonas Taylor as he battles a megalodon that is significantly larger than the one he faced in the 2018 original. Meg, which was directed by Jon Turteltaub and earned over $530.2 million worldwide, is getting a sequel in 2020.

The Dolby poster for Meg 2 highlights its immensity with the text “Dive into the heart-pounding action of Meg 2,” promising an even bigger sequel than the first one as its larger-than-life shark easily chomps down on a jet trying to flee its grasp.
Meg 2: The Trench’s Cast Explained
While the action in the first Meg centered on Statham’s Jonas Taylor facing up against a huge megalodon, the sequel ups the ante by introducing numerous Megs. In the clip, one of them is seen gorging on a T-Rex, giving a sneak peek at the elaborate set pieces the sequel will include. Along with Statham reprising his role as Taylor, James “Mac” Mackreides, Meiying Zhang, and DJ will also be played by Cliff Curtis, Sophia Cai, and Page Kennedy.
Wu Jing, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Skyler Samuels, and Sienna Guillory, who previously appeared in The Wandering Earth, have joined the cast of Meg 2: The Trench. Wu is a huge superstar in China and one of the highest-paid performers there. Wu had already been in his director’s Wolf Warrior and Wolf Warrior 2 films alongside Western performers like Scott Adkins and Frank Grillo, but Meg 2: The Trench will be his first significant part in a Hollywood production.
Due to Wu’s fame, Meg 2: The Trench might become a huge economic success in China. The Wandering Earth 2, which smashed enormous domestic sales records earlier this year, is currently the sixth highest-grossing picture of 2023 and the tenth-highest-grossing Chinese film of all time.
