First Look at Wolverine and Deadpool in Deadpool 3

A first glimpse at Wolverine and Deadpool in Deadpool 3 has been made public by Ryan Reynolds. Reynolds shared a picture of the costumed superhero duo strolling side by side on Instagram.

What’s particularly intriguing about this is Wolverine’s beloved yellow and blue outfit, which was made popular by the character’s appearance in the X-Men books. Jackman has played Wolverine for more than two decades, but up until this point, he had never donned the recognizable yellow outfit and mask from the comics.

With a last page splash that showed the distinctive yellow and blue with animalistic stripes that would go on to define the character in the decades to follow, Wolverine made his comic book debut in Incredible Hulk #180 (1962). Fun fact: Wolverine’s Adamantium claws in this premiere are attached to his gloves rather than being skeletal extensions. Giant-Size X-Men #1 (1975) introduced Wolverine’s now-iconic yellow clothing.

Jackman plays the part that fans believed he had played in Logan from 2017 for the final time in Deadpool 3. According to rumors from last week, Jennifer Garner will unexpectedly make a cameo appearance in Deadpool 3 as Elektra. The first time Garner portrayed the infamous killer was in the Ben Affleck and Ryan Reynolds film Deadpool from 2003.

The current release date for Deadpool 3 is May 3, 2024, but if SAG-AFTRA calls for a strike, it is likely to have an impact on the film’s development. The organization that represents performers in Hollywood just extended the studio deadline to July 12.
